Service Dog Program

For dogs that already have prior obedience training

The 6-month Service Dog program

The 6-month program runs for six months, with one private virtual session each week (approximately 24 sessions) and support between sessions. It's available to anyone living anywhere in the United States, and it concludes with a final in-person evaluation at your location.

Phase 1 · Virtual

One-on-one virtual training

You and your dog meet with your trainer over live video, building on your dog's existing obedience foundation. Each session builds on the last, with practice to work on between sessions at home and in your everyday environments.

What the 6-month program includes

  • Individualized daily training homework
  • Unlimited text and email support throughout the program

  • Monthly progress evaluations and adjustments to the training plan
  • Coaching and guidance for family members and pet sitters, so everyone works with the dog consistently
  • Maintenance and generalization of your dog's existing training
  • Development of Service Dog tasks and alerts
  • Obedience, task reliability, and public-access preparation
  • Travel skills, such as airplane and TSA training, available as needed
  • A final in-person evaluation upon completion of the program, at your location, including public-access training (Jordyn's travel billed separately from the program price)

Final phase · In person

Final in-person evaluation

Upon completion of the program, Jordyn flies to your location for a final in-person evaluation, so you don't need to travel. It brings together everything you and your dog have worked on virtually.

The length of the in-person session depends on your dog and your goals, and Jordyn will go over it with you ahead of time.

How virtual sessions work

Real-time coaching, right where your dog lives.

  1. Set up your space

    Find an area where your trainer can see you and your dog on camera. A phone, tablet, or laptop works.

  2. Train live, one-on-one

    Your trainer watches in real time, coaches your timing and handling, and adjusts the plan as your dog progresses.

  3. Practice between sessions

    You leave each session with clear next steps to practice in your daily routine until you meet again.

  4. Build toward the finale

    Virtual sessions prepare you and your dog for the in-person session that ends your program. Jordyn travels to you anywhere in the U.S. to complete it.

Session frequency: in the 6-month program, you meet with your trainer for one private, one-on-one virtual session each week, with unlimited text and email support and video review and feedback between sessions.

How sessions work online: sessions are held by video call on Google Meet or Zoom, both free for you to join on a phone, tablet, or computer. There's nothing to buy, and nothing to install beyond the free app. Between sessions, you'll send short homework videos for Jordyn to review, and she can share private demo videos with you.

Session length and scheduling: Session length and scheduling are set with Jordyn during your free consultation, based on your dog and your schedule. Jordyn will go over rescheduling and cancellation policies with you during your free consultation.

What you'll need: A phone, tablet, or laptop with a camera for video sessions, plus a leash and a collar or harness. Jordyn will recommend any other equipment during your free consultation.
